Olá!

I’m Maria Alves, and I’m a passionate linguist and educator enthusiastic about both language learning and teaching. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Languages from the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal.

As a teacher and as a one-to-one tutor, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of various ages, helping them achieve their academic goals through individual support and creative learning strategies. I thrive in environments where I can foster critical thinking and boost students’ confidence, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each learner. 

Beyond the classroom, I have a deep interest in the creative arts. I enjoy creative outlets like drawing, painting, and writing, which not only fuel my passion for art and storytelling, but also help me bring a more personal touch into my teaching methods.
